Michael Judkins

Experience

Michael Judkins has some 40 years experience as a dispute resolution lawyer, during which time has covered all areas of work which usually arise in relation to business clients. His disputes experience extends to employment, contractual, property and occupancy claims, professional negligence, debt recovery and issues between business partners and shareholders. Michael is also an experienced employment lawyer.

Following qualification Michael held partner roles at Wilson Browne of Kettering and Ward Gethin Archer of Ely where he was Head of Litigation for 20 years. Since 2017 he has remained active in his areas of practice via various locum assignments.

“I am highly motivated to help and do the very best I can, in resolving legal problems and requirements which arise from the business community. I will always adopt a thorough and proactive approach to the management of casework, striving at all times to achieve the best and most effective outcome, balancing client expectations and prospects of success with the practicality of cost. My understanding and strength of engagement with those involved in running businesses is derived from the considerable variety of my experience and workload over a relatively long period of time. This has, in turn, enabled me to quickly grasp the nature of the problem, and to establish a good client relationship.”

  • Founder President and holder of various offices in Ely Hereward Rotary Club
  • Chair of Ely Community Events Team
  • Committee member/Trustee for both St Peters Church, Ely, and Viva Theatre Group, Soham
  • Law tutor since 2017 delivering seminars, by way of introduction to Law and Legal practice, at Oxford Summer School (now Oxford Summer Courses)
  • Creator of “Float like a Butterfly” the only known complete musical work covering the life and career of Muhammad Ali, to be staged in due course as a theatrical production


Other Interests

  • Most sport particularly football, being lifelong supporter of Leicester City FC
  • Playing and developing guitar, having a substantial range of self-written songs
  • Running, having completed a number of half-marathons
  • Walking, cycling, travel, getting to know the history of places visited

Languages

Currently learning Spanish, with intent to achieve as near to fluency as possible.
